A lot of rumors are going around on the internet about the return of Daft Punk. Daft Punk are rumoured to be releasing their fourth studio album in March of 2013, after an image emerged which is claimed to be the record’s artwork. The image, showing the band’s logo in blue on a white background gives the title ‘no end’ and the date 3.13.13. The artwork was published by Australian website InTheMix and has sent fans of the French duo into a fever of anticipation.
Although the band hasn’t yet officially announced the album, it has been revealed in interviews that the project is in progress. Many clues have been given since the Tron: Legacy Soundtrack. Artists such as Panda Bear, Paul Williams, Chilly Gonzales, and most recently Nile Rodgers had confirmed their collaborations on the current studio project. The album has been in the works since 2010.
Another online source has made claims that daft punk is set to tour in 2013, naming Glastonbury as one of several planned festival dates. EDMSnob also claims the pair will perform at Roslkilde Festival in Denmark, Peace and Love in Sweden and Oya Festival in Norway.
The formation may be seen as the founder of modern electronic music, and also acquired fame through outlandish outfits and helmets. An overview of the helmets through the years:
