Baauer has come under fire, because his track ‘Harlem Shake’ has some uncleared samples in it. Harlem Shake has been released in 2012, on the 5th of June on Mad Decent, but it wasn’t a worldwide hit instantly. It became a hit after a video popped up on the internet where people were relaxing for 15 seconds, except for one person (who wore a helmet). The 2nd part of the video was hilarious! All those people who eventually were relaxing were doing the most craziest things in weird costumes. This video became viral and it wouldn’t take long before a lot more people were making a Harlem Shake video. Anyway, the most recognizable samples of the track: “Con los terroristas” and “Do the Harlem Shake” have been used without permission from the owners, and now they are suing Mad Decent and Baauer for those unlicensed samples.
