A few weeks ago, our Soundcloud account had been frozen (read the story HERE). That meant that we couldn’t upload any more files. Soundcloud was an important channel for us, because we always used an embedded Soundcloud player in our posts. It was a huge disappointment when we found out that our account had been frozen and we tried to do everything to get it back, with no success. But today, we have bought a new account! Follow our new account to keep updated with the latest music!

mysteryland chile 2012 Mysteryland Chile 2012

Mysteryland
a festival with a rich history which originated in 1993. It’s Holland’s oldest dance festival, each year 60.000 up to 70.000 visitors visit this anual event. This succes didn’t come overnight for the organisation. With up to 18 years of experience in hosting this big scaled event and almost going bankrupt after there edition in 1994, the organisations held there head strong and decided to keep doing what they loved the most, and that is organizing what has turned out to become one of the leading dance events in the world. It’s the festival where the impossible is made possible, and where you can imagine yourself in a real life fairytale. To make this happen the organisation spends a lot of money on decoration and entertainment. It’s not just a festival, it’s an experience. exQlusiv was there to take photos. Read all about the experience of our photographer.

Mysteryland by Vicente Rodriguez and Bruno Fernandes.
3 days of parting, fresh air and the feeling of freedom where you can do everything without thinking if someone is going to find it wrong or strange. I can hardly describe the situation in which I found myself  that weekend. An event which a friend of ours described as (and we believe he did perfectly) as: “If I die, Mysteryland will be as a sort of  heaven, where everyone can be comfortable and has incredible fun”
Second year that Mysteryland takes place in chile, but besides of talking about the quality of the DJ’s (which never ceases to amaze in every single stage), the good vibe, the magic that you feel within this festival and the energy that runs through people it’s simply unexplainable. Well, for those who have ever been to Mysteryland in Holland, imagine that experience… for 3 days, MINDBLOWING!

Mysteryland Chile

We believe it’s important to emphasize those national Dj’s and artists who made this event something more personal and showed us the quality of what we have here in Chile. We talked to Fernando Vives and Alex Forero, great people and great friends, they gave so much energy at the Dirty Dutch Stage that we believe their words are wiser than ours. “Just when we thought that the experience of playing at Creamfields Chile would be unbeatable, Mysteryland took care to show us that we were wrong… over 5000 people under the big white tent of Dirty Dutch, and our group of friends decided to form a production team and managed to arrange enough cameras, and GoPros to record what was a 58 minutes of ecstasy… we never felt so many people vibrating and dancing on the same page in front of us, it was a situation that we didn’t even dear to dream about, not even in our biggest dreams. Hope to see you next year. VIVES & FORERO”

VIVES FORERO Mysteryland Chile 2012

Our final words, Mysteryland is something you have to live, no doubt about it …fan of electronic music or not, the energy and experience that arises in Picarquin is unbelievable… Well, the pictures speak for themselves.

WINNERS exQlusiv X-MAS contest

Wow! We didn’t expected this much entries for this contest. That made it very hard for us to decide which tracks should be featured on our website. There were actually too many producers who deserved to be featured in this winners-post, but than you had to scroll down for a couple minutes to see all the winners.  It was funny to see that almost everyone has the same taste in music. We’ve heard a lot melodic breakdowns with banging saw climaxes, but also a lot melodic breakdowns with melodic climaxes. We had to listen very carefully to the creativity of the tracks. Someone was so creative, that he sent us an existing remix of already professional producers and tried to fool us (that won’t work for you, not now and not in the future!).

The others produced their own music and we’ve noticed that there are a lot of talent producers out there! So, here are the winning tracks. Congratulations to all of you who won, and if you didn’t win this time, it has to make you motivated to win the next time! Don’t stop producing if it is what you love to do, because in the end, it’s all for the love of the music!

Nick Bounce – Rebound
Nice atmosphere with a great melodic climax! Solid production!

Beck & Charlotte Gainsbourg – Paradisco (Arston, Buck Lesson, Dis Play Remix)
Beautiful vocal fits well with the track. Nice vibe and cool melody with a powerful climax!

Ramtin Ghaderi – F.U.N
Cool use of a sample from Dada Life. Fat melody climax followed by an insane 2nd climax!

Midge & Flapjack – We’re Never Supposed To Win
The techy vibe in this track got our attention! Cool rolling beats with nice stabs!

Aznar – Dozem
The little vocal before the drop got our attention and is followed by a great big room climax.

Manse Ft.Tress – Share the Love
This Swedish producer definitely knows how to combine good vocals with a nice melody!

Svent – Arabic Acid
Dark acid banger with Arabic vocal influences. Will work in the clubs for sure!

Henry Carvalho vs Mari Herzer – Maps
Good combination of nice synths and the climax has a beautiful melody.

Nic Owen – Mysteria
Cool lead synth with a big room melody and a strong saw sound climax!

Marco Belz & Steve Gilek – Gamecolor
Nice techy beat in the intro and it changes to a creative Gameboy sounding melody.

exQlusiv’s Top 10 EDM Remixes of 2012

10. Zedd Ft. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Deniz Koyu Remix)
Really cool remix made by the Turkish DJ & producer Deniz Koyu. Other remixes of this track are made by big names like Armin van Buuren, Arty, Congorock and Gregori Klosman & Tristan Garner. Deniz Koyu is definitely talented producer we should keep an eye on.

9. Keane – Silenced By The Night (Alesso Remix)
The original song by the English band Keane was a big success after their comeback. Reason enough for the Swede Alesso to make a remix of it. It scores on a lot of events like Masquerade Motel, Summerburst, Electric Daisy Carnival and of course in his own Essential Mix on BBC Radio One. The top highlight for this song was the #1 position on the Beatport Top 100.

8. Afrojack feat. Shermanology – Can’t Stop Me (Kryder & Tom Staar Remix)
Great banger with lovely vocals from Shermanology. This Remix has been made by two great remixers from the UK. You might know them from their remix of ‘ Don’t You Worry Child’ which has been listed on the playlist of One Last Tour. Dirty South, Alesso, Deniz Koyu, Thomas Gold, Steve Angello and Arty are normally no names who would play a song by Afrojack but they all played this Remix of an Afrotune.

7. Deadmau5 feat. Chris James – The Veldt (Tommy Trash Remix)

It’s almost impossible to improve the original song by Deadmau5 and vocals from Chris James but the Aussie Tommy Trash did a great job. This remix has been nominated for a Grammy Award,  was a part of Pete Tong’s the Essential Selection, dropped by Avicii at Tomorrowland and also played by a lot of other big names like Otto Knows, Alesso, Laidback Luke, Hardwell and Deadmau5 himself.

6.M-3ox ft. Heidrun – Beating Of My Heart (Matisse & Sadko Remix)
Since last year, Matisse & Sadko made some big steps to the top. One of them was the release of ‘Trio’ on Axtone, a great tune made by Russian brothers together with Arty. This song gain support from DJs like Thomas Gold, Alesso, Swanky Tunes, Tiësto and the Swedish House Mafia.

5. Miike Snow – The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix)
Great remix by this German guy Thomas Gold. It has been released on Axtone and have full support from the Swedish House Mafia. Thomas Gold was  not the only one who made a remix of a song from Miike Snow, Dirty South made one of ‘Devil’s Work’ and Deniz Koyu made one of ‘Pretender’.

4. M83 – Midnight City (Eric Prydz Private Remix)
Beautiful track with some fine tuning by just another Swede. Fortunately he leaves the great elements of the original.  A lot of DJs used this song in combination with the vocals of ‘Sweet Disposition’ better known as Dirty South’s mash up. A great track for every moment.

3. Eric Turner vs Avicii – Dancing in My Head (Tom Hangs Remix)
The internet was already filled with set rips from this track, but since last August we are able to buy the full version. in Autumn 2011, Future Music Magazine visited the Swede and explained how he made this song. Weird it took so long till the release but however something else than Levels and an amazing tune.

2. BURNS – Lies (Otto Knows Remix)
And another Swede in this list, a schoolmate of Avicii called Otto Knows. He made a remix of BURNS – Lies which is originally based on Deborah Cox – It’s Over Now from 1998 and it has been supported by a lot of top DJs. One of them is Tiësto, he played it for 8 weeks straight during Club Life which resulted to a radio edit by Sony Music.

1. Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay – In My Mind (Axwell Remix)
Well, for all of us this isn’t a big surprise but definitely the best remix of 2012. Armin van Buuren noticed this banger and played it at Privilege in Ibizia during his sets. This track has been listed #1 position on the Beatport Top 100, was seen as summer anthem of this year, made his debut on Pete Tong’s Radio One and had almost a Grammy Award for best Remix. Thumbs up for Swedish House Mafia member Axwell but also especially for the Australia’s producers Feenixpawl and Ivan Gough.

Deadmau5 Headliner at Ultra Music Festival 2013

After the confirmation of the Swedish House Mafia, now Deadmau5 joins the line-up for the first 2 weekend edition of Ultra Music Festival. Last year there seemed to be no room on the line-up for deadmau5. Strange, because after being booked 4 times in a row for one of the worlds most talked about festival, it seemed that he was becoming a resident dj. This year they took back one of the most hard to book dj’s in the world. Perhaps it had to do something with the merge of his label (ultra recordings) and the Ultra Music Festival.
